Day 1 : Depart from Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Dades Gorges
Our desert trip starts from Marrakech at 7:00 AM as we travel towards Ouarzazate, driving 200 km through the Atlas Mountains where you will see beautiful landscapes and many authentic Berber villages. Our first big stop will be at ‘Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah,’ a 16th-century fortified village and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Many big movies have been shot there (Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Gladiator, and Prince of Persia…). We visit the fortress before traveling on to Ouarzazate, the capital city of cinema in Africa, where we stop for lunch. After lunch, we drive towards the Roses Valley and the Road of the Kasbahs, then to the Dades Gorges. We arrive around 5:00 PM to visit the gorges. Afterwards, we stop for the night in a delightful hotel near the gorges.
Day 2 : Todgha Gorges - Erfoud - Sahara Desert
After breakfast in the hotel, we travel toward Todgha Valley to visit the valley and its gorges. We have lunch in Tinjdad, then drive to Erfoud, the capital of fossils, and on to Merzouga where the dunes of Erg Chebbi are located. We arrive in the afternoon and take a break for an hour at a pleasant hotel, where you can swim in the pool and prepare for the camel trek if you wish. Just two hours before sunset, we ride camels for one and a half hours to watch the amazing sunset over the sand dunes. We stop for the night at a nomad camp where we will have dinner, and then the nomads will play Berber music for us around the campfire. Afterward, we can enjoy the majestic sky.
Day 3 : Sahara Desert - Rissani - Marrakech
We wake early to watch the wonderful sunrise and ride camels back to the hotel in Merzouga to shower and have breakfast there, preparing for the drive back to Marrakech.
